The skill profiles of care assistants are undefined at the European level, so consequently these people neither have a definition of training, nor are there tools to identify the most useful learning needs in order for them to carry out their work. Therefore, it has been recognized that there is the need to initiate a process of reflection and intervention within the European sphere on this issue. The main objective of LENEMI (Learning Needs of Migrant Caregivers) is a first selected mapping, that is, a limited sampling, within different European contexts, of the characteristics of competence and training requirements emerging for these care assistants. Briefly, the result is the identification of several characteristics of care assistants from the sample and the exploration of emerging training needs within a framework of European compatibility and recognition of the skills profile.
