Abstract

This work relates to a trial for the development of sludge from the washing of aggregates, in order to recover the waste material and avoid landfilling. As part of the Soil Washing process at the Milan company EUREKO, through a suitable mechanical process briquettes lightweight aggregate were made, starting from mud waste. In this mixture were also used calcium oxide / lime (CaO), sand (2 mm), aerated concrete and Portland cement. Different mixtures of the components were performed, in order to identify thebest for the end uses. After 28 days some tests including moisture measurement, apparent density measurement, porosity and resistance to crushing were performed.
