This paper examines the issues of comparing the characteristics and behaviour of museums’ visitors (or visitors of other cultural institutions) with the characteristics and behaviour of Internet and multimedia users, interested in cultural heritage content. In particular, we examine the demographics aspects, the expectations, and the concrete actions. Our conclusion is that those two categories, although some minor differences can still be detected, are essentially the same group of people, and therefore cultural institutions could approach them with similar content and similar services.
