Abstract

The formulation of goals in the world of rehabilitation and health is assuming an increasingly crucial importance in the process of care. In order to better understand how Swiss occupational therapists stand with regard to this issue and how to better support them in the process of developing goals, the schools of occupational therapy in Switzerland have collaborated on a research project concerning the formulation of objectives in this health discipline. The project was funded by the Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) and the “Stiftung für Ergotherapie Zürich” foundation, in collaboration with the Swiss Association of Occupational Therapists and the Swiss Red Cross. The research lasted three years and allowed the collection of quite valuable data leading to the construction of a course and a manual to support occupational therapists in this essential step of the therapeutic process. Several results which are presented in this paper highlight the relevance of this topic in professional practice
