A targeted architectural solution can be used to enable a wireless mesh network to meet the Quality of Experience expectations of its mobile users. WiOptiMo is one such solution that was originally designed for seamless handover management in the Internet, and in this paper we show how it can be adapted to wireless mesh networks. We also present two enhancements to the basic framework that address the key issues of mobility support and Quality of Experience support. Specifically, mobility support is provided by predicting the future location of mobile devices, while Quality of Experience support is provided by a method based on Network Utility theory. Our solution has been developed as a contribution of the FP7 project EU-MESH, and the empirical validation results are very promising.
