Abstract

The social distancing time experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted new ways that food can bring people together. With a particular focus on the three places food is experienced and/or consumed (at home, outdoor, and online) this research explores new ways to contribute to consumers, businesses, and societal well-being. This research proposes a new conceptual framework focused on new food experiences and underlines trends that are likely here to stay due to the relevance of the hedonic aspect of food experiences, new food trends, and new technologies.
