Abstract
The starting point of the study is the analysis of a real case carried out at Paradiso municipality, part of Lugano district in Switzerland, which is currently undergoing a deep urban transformation. The article shows main outcomes of this case study, analyzing the impact of urban density on energy performances of existing buildings and historical protected buildings in the area. This process carefully analyzes key parameters, taking into account both the conservation and energy needs of historic buildings.
