Abstract

This paper describes the steps and the criteria used to set up a new bilingual environment for lexical learning, using available dictionary and morphological information. A bilingual available dictionary (German-Italian) has been taken as starting point, integrating, step by step, morphological information such as inflection paradigms, derivation families, segmentation, surface variants, etc. An important issue is that the added information has not been specified from scratch, rather it has been reused from modules derived from other projects. We will explain how this has been achieved, the criteria used to choose the right components, and how the latter will be used to automatically generate exercises on lexicon knowledge.
